On November 23, the KELME 2019 FISU University World Cup-Football ushered in the second round of the group stage. Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT, China) fought against Julius-Maximilian University of Würzburg (JMU, Germany). In the whole match, TYUT was suppressed by the opponent. In the second half, TYUT lost control of the defense. Finally, it lost 0-6 to JMU, suffering a tragic defeat.

TYUT fell into a passive position at the very beginning of the game. In the 19th minute, a successful make-up shot of the No. 21 player after a long-range shot from the periphery of JMU was blocked by the goalkeeper of TYUT made that JMU led 1-0. In the 42nd minute, JMU made a left-wing cross, and No. 14 player followed up with a header, changing the score to 2-0.

After the half-time adjustment, TYUT made a slight improvement in attack and tried to use defensive counterattack for many times to put pressure on the opponent. However, the rear defense line of TYUT began to show problems. In the 69th minute, JMU won the free kick in the front court. In the scuffle in front of the goal, TYUT found itself in a disorderly formation, and the No. 9 player made a wrong move, making the score changed to 3-0. Two minutes later, JMU made a comeback, and No. 19 player used a header to score a goal again. TYUT, trailing 0-4, was visibly demoralized. JMU continued its onslaught, with substitute player No. 3 and substitute player No. 5 scoring in the 81st and 84th minutes. The final score was 6-0, with JMU taking a big victory.

After the match, the head coach of JMU said that the players performed better at the game than at the previous one and they were more attuned to the pace of the game. "Due to jet lag, they were all slow at the first game. As they get used to it, they are in better condition today and I believe they will play better."

TYUT lost the first two rounds before their next match against Malaga University (Spain) on November 25. (Publicity Department of the Organizing Committee)
